Adoption Information
The arrangements, in plain words
A short summary of how adoption works with CatSkyLi. Anything you'd like clarified, please ask.
- Age at homing
- Kittens go to their new families after they are at least eight weeks old, and only when their preparation is complete.
- Preparation within the United Kingdom
- First vaccination, health checks and microchipping are completed before the kitten leaves us.
- International placements
- Kittens joining families overseas do not leave before their second vaccination has been completed, alongside health checks, microchipping and appropriate preparation for transfer. Destination-country requirements vary and arrangements depend upon the applicable transport and import requirements.
- Family assessment
- We consider each family to be sure a kitten will have a safe home, a clean environment, appropriate long-term care, regular veterinary attention and responsible lifelong ownership.
- Reservation
- Once a family has been considered suitable and a kitten selected, the kitten may be reserved with a reservation fee of 25% of the total agreed adoption amount. Availability and pricing are discussed privately.
- Pet Home
- Pedigree and ancestry registration documents are not automatically issued for Pet Home kittens; producing them requires additional registration procedures and costs. This relates to documentation only, never to the kitten's care or health.
- Pedigree / breeder arrangements
- Where pedigree documentation is requested, we can arrange the appropriate paperwork. This involves additional procedures and is a different arrangement from standard Pet Home adoption.
- After adoption
- We stay in touch with families and welcome updates and photographs as each kitten grows.
